Fishing Braids:
A good fishing line is one of the essential pieces of angler's equipment... but is it just a line? After all, you'll still find a whole range of braided lines on the market. To make your choice easier, here's a look at the pros of both solutions - so you're sure to choose the perfect product for your needs. The main advantage of monofilament is its versatility and... price! Compared to braided line, it is much cheaper, making it ideal for less experienced anglers and those who only go fishing occasionally. A monofilament line will also be ideal in winter, as it does not absorb water, so it performs well in minus temperatures. From a fish's perspective, monofilament is also better, as it is more difficult to see than braided line. This is important mainly for white fish, which are generally wary and fussy, e.g. carp. The advantages of braided line are mainly its resistance to mechanical damage - a monofilament line can be badly battered after a whole season of fishing. Braided line can also withstand a lot more weight and has a much higher breaking strength than monofilament. So both solutions have their pros and cons - choose wisely!
